California – Day 6
Posted on December 31st, 2007 at 9:26 PM by HB

Knotts Berry Farm baby!!  Thank God we got out of work early and thank God again that I guess we’re going through the “off-season” so the park was nearly empty woo hoo!!  I tell ya, if you’ve never been there or if it’s been a while… you guys need to plan a trip!  As soon as we all got into the park, we were met by a monster of a coaster called “The Silver Bullet.”  Baby, this thing goes up down and all around… and your feet are dangling from the seat!  Woo hoo!  I have to tell you there, is nothing more fun than whipping around and going upside down and all around with your legs whipping through the air like that!

And of course, they trick the hell out of you by snapping a pic of you halfway through it.. damn them heheh :)   Definitely not one of my prettier days :D   And if the rides couldn’t get any scarier, the next thing we went on was called “The Xcelerator.”  Child, you better hold on to your valuables when getting on this ride.  This thing shoots you forwards, then up a 90 degree hill, then straight over the top, and then back down at a 90 degree angle before twisting at the bottom and whipping around the corner.  Honey, I was even scared to take a picture of the damned thing!  I mean just look at it?  I was shitting in my pants before I even got on the darned thing!  (Needless to say, we rode it 4 times throughout the day hahahha!)

And as for the landmark coaster of Knotts Berry Farm,  GhostRider, damn…  I personally suggest padding your ribs because this thing shakes and whips around corners so fast, your stomach is going to hurt by the time you get off the ride!  All kidding aside, there’s something really special about wooden coasters.  Maybe it’s that constant worry that the thing might fall to pieces :D .

Oh and no trip to Knotts Berry Farm is complete without a dining experience at Mrs. Knotts’ Chicken Dinner :)   You would NOT believe the LINE at that place!  Just looking at it, I decided it would be nuts to even get in that line!  And wouldn’t you know it, our hotel was serving Mrs. Knotts’ chicken for dinner!  Hahhaha.. score!!   Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get ready for the night’s festivities!

California – Day 5
Posted on December 30th, 2007 at 9:02 PM by HB

The mantra of the day is:  Disney DISNEY DISNEY!!!  You know, it feels really weird being there as a guest rather than as a cast member for once.  And to be honest, I got lost in Disneyland hahah.  And with a million people in there, you really need a map to navigate that place!

We had a blast though… riding Space Mountain, running up and down Main Street, what a fun life.  And for the first time, I finally got to experience Disney’s California Adventure.  I don’t know what to make of this place, but there are a couple of great rides out there.  We decided to make a “beeline” for the Tower of Terror, one of my favorite rides in Orlando!  And to make it all better, one of my good cute friends works there heheh.  I kinda winked at him as I went in, and he’s so cute… he texted me later saying that he was too nervous to say anything to me.  Awww how cute!  Yes, as probably have guessed, we have never really met before hehe.

Anyway, after a great time on Tower with all my friends, we hit it right over to California Screamin’.  One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE roller coasters… the crazier, the better!  Oh my gosh what fun!  I absolutely love coasters that flip you upside down hehe.  I had so much fun that I ended up riding it 2 or 3 times hahaha.

I must say though… time flies by way too quickly when you’re having fun.  The only crappy thing about this whole trip is that we’ve only been able to get out and have some fun in the evenings :( .  And you know how it goes in these big parks…you could spend 5 hours in them and only get on 3 rides.  Sucks huh?  Kinda makes me miss my days of being a cast member at Disney World… having several days to do whatever I want hehe :)

Anyway, tomorrow we’re off to spend some time at Knotts Berry Farm!  I haven’t been there since I was a little kid!  And I hear they have some mean coasters there… woo hoo!  Bring it on!!

California – Day 4
Posted on December 29th, 2007 at 11:58 PM by HB

Hey gang! Today is my best friend’s birthday!   So after a long day of work, we all decided to hit the nearest Claim Jumper’s for dinner.  I have to say, I LOVE this place hehe.  The food’s great and the portions are huge… add to that some great drinks and an awesome bunch of friends, it makes for a great night!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have my cam on hand so I couldn’t take some candid shots…but I will say that we all had a blast and still feeling the effects of the festivities hehehe :) .  Damn it’s cold out there!  40 degrees baby!!

Hau’oli La Hanau e Ka’ano’i!

California – Day 3
Posted on December 28th, 2007 at 11:35 PM by HB

Oh my word it’s cold tonight!  And to make matters worse, we didn’t get to Disneyland until 5 tonight!  What the hell?? You know, it really sucks when you think that you’re going to be on vacation and then work calls.  And if that wasn’t bad enough, the park was BEYOND packed tonight!  What the hell?  I’ve never seen it this packed at Disney before.  Then again, I haven’t been to Disneyland in about 15 years…but even the Magic Kingdom park at Disney World wasn’t this bad!  (Then again, now that I think about it, you can fit the entire Disneyland property in the parking lot of the Magic Kingdom of DW…scary huh?)

The lines were so bad that we decided to just get a bite to eat at Downtown Disney.  Boy, what a mistake that was!   With all the restaurants they have in that area, the shortest wait was 2 hours!  What the F**K??  In the end, we just decided to go to the nearest In-N-Out Burger for some incredible cheeseburgers.  And I must say, the burgers were awesome!

Anyway, we have another day at Disneyland tomorrow…so hopefully we can have some fun then.  Have a great one everybody!

California – Day 2
Posted on December 27th, 2007 at 11:43 PM by HB

Hey gang!  Wow, can I just say that I was so unprepared for how cold it can get here in the evenings?  Who knew it gets down into the 40s in Southern California?? :)   Anyway, after a long session for work in the morning, we were off to Universal Studios Hollywood!  Unfortunately, my friends and I rented a van for the week and well, we got kinda lost heheh.  Somehow we all failed to realize that we all should have charged our iPhones last night!  So in the end, it took us 3 whole hours to get from Buena Park to Universal City… I know, crazy right??

Ahh well in the end, it didn’t turn out to be a bad decision after all!  We ended up finding a Marukai Market!  Who knew they had these things in California?  It’s an Asian food store that I thought only existed in Hawai’i :) .  Then again, with increasing numbers of Hawaiians moving to the West Coast, I shouldn’t have been so surprised ;) .

Anyway, by the time we got to Universal, it was about 5pm, so we had no time to waste getting to the great rides.  I haven’t been there in so long, there wasn’t a “Lower lot” section the last time I was here haha!  I have to say though, on the whole…there’s only two things worth riding there… Jurassic Park and The Mummy.  As usual, Jurassic Park was a blast!  And you should see the photo!! Hahaha… looks like several of my friends were praying for their lives hahahah.  And The Mummy was pretty great too!  An indoor coaster based on the awesome movie that goes forward and backward!  If you’ve never been.. I highly recommend it :) .  I have to give Universal credit… they really know how to capitalize on the theme of every attraction.  They always try to make every ride a true adventure.

And well…I couldn’t help myself when I saw this guy in the line behind us.  There are only a few men who can actually make pink work as a color, and he is definitely one of them.  He MUST be gay :P .  Total cutie too!

After playing in the park, we separated from the main group and spent a couple hours walking through Universal City Walk.. it’s like walking through Vegas! Heheh.. lights and flashy stores everywhere.  Not to mention several hot food spots to satisfy every desire! (Well, almost every desire I suppose hehe.)  Needless to say, as soon as we were all in the van going back to the hotel, we were all passed out..zzzz….

Tomorrow we’re off to our first day at Disneyland!  Woo hoo!  I’ll be honest though… the last time I was at a Disney park, I was working in Disney World in Orlando with one of my exboyfriends…and it’s going to be really hard for me to be in a Disney park as a guest rather than as a cast member.  Oh well, life must go on I guess right?   See you guys tomorrow!

December 26

California – Day 1
Posted on December 26th, 2007 at 11:54 PM by HB

Oh my God… it’s sooo great to FINALLY be here.  Again, God only knows why we flew via NWA.  I have always called them “Not Without Alcohol”…  Our flight was delayed 4 hours!!  We didn’t get off the ground til 3am!  What the hell??

Anyway, on to the good stuff…  after getting into the hotel and resting for a while, the group I was with got to go to a performance of “Wicked”, which was f**king awesome!!  Eden Espinosa rocked the house as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.  That woman’s voice is just incredible.  If you’ve never seen the show… get your ass out to LA or NY and see it!  It’s based off a book that gives an alternate interpretation of the Wizard of OZ and presents the other side of the story, from the Wicked Witch’s perspective.  Moments of laughter mixed with moments of tears always makes for an incredible show.  “Defying Gravity” was phenomenal, and the last moments of the show with “For Good” brought the whole house to tears.  That song reminds me of someone from my past who will always have a special place in my heart, and that’s exactly what the song speaks to…

I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow
If we let them…and we help them in return
Well I don’t know if I believe if that’s true
But I know I’m who I am today
Because I knew you…

Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes the sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder halfway through the wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for better,
Because I knew you,
I have been changed for good.

It may well be that we will never meet again
In this lifetime, so let me say before we part
So much of me is made of what I learned from you
You’ll be with me like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend

Like a ship blown from its mooring by a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird in a distant wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better
But because I knew you, because I knew you
I have been changed for good.

And just to clear the air,
I ask forgiveness for the things I’ve done you blame me for
But then I guess, there’s blame to share
But none of it matters anymore.

Like a comet pulled from orbit as it pass a sun
(Like a ship blown from its mooring by a wind off the sea)
Like a stream that meets a boulder halfway through a wood
(Like a seed dropped by a seabird in a distant wood)

Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better
And because I knew you, because I knew you…
Because I knew you,
I have been changed…for good.

And if the night couldn’t get any better, a small group of us were able to get a private backstage tour and I was able to meet Eden!  Oh my god… there is no higher honor than that really.  And yes, I did take a picture with her, but unfortunately I can’t post it on here for the need to keep my anonymity heheh.  Sorry guys!

So now here we are back at the hotel feasting on delivery pizza and pepsi… I know, the food of champions right? Hahahah.  Who knows what adventures tomorrow will bring!  We’re off to Universal Studios :)

December 25

Thank you Santa!
Posted on December 25th, 2007 at 3:41 PM by HB

Merry Christmas everyone! Wow, I had no idea that Santa was paying such close attention heheh… Look at all the goodies that were left under the tree :)

I can’t believe it! All three of the dvds I had on my list.. thanks Santa! And look what else!!

Ka Mo’olelo no Hi’iakaikapoliopele

Man, I really am so thankful for all the gifts that the big man in red brought me this year… I couldn’t be happier. And you know what makes it even better? Tonight I’m off to Los Angeles for a week and tomorrow night, I’m going to see “Wicked” at the Pantages Theatre!! Woo hooo!

Mele Kalikimaka ia ‘oukou a pau!

No, not my two front teeth… but, hey nothing wrong with wishing for certain things right?  And hey, you never know what you might get until you make a list.  So here’s my list for this season… yes, it’s materialistic and plain, but hey… nothing wrong with wanting plain things with the more extravagant hahah.  Ok, so here we go… HB’s Christmas list for Santa…

DVDs

Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Hairspray (Shake and Shimmy Edition)

Books

Ka Mo`olelo no Hi`iakaikapoliopele (both Hawaiian and English editions)
Secret Societies by Sylvia Browne
The Two Marys by Sylvia Browne

Clothes

Manuheali’i dress shirt
black slacks
khaki slacks (gotta use both slacks for work!)

Expensive Dreams

Macbook Pro laptop computer – 15″ glossy screen with 2GB RAM
A car (heheh I don’t care what kind, as long as it works and is in decent shape)
Blu-ray disc player

But you know, even with all of that… what I would want more… and this may sound a little strange for most of you is… I wish for something for “M”.  My greatest Christmas wish is that he could be with his Maori man.  I know, I’m a big sap, but I think they deserve each other.  And I would hate to see their relationship fail because of physical distance.

So Santa, if you’re listening… I’ve been good this year :) .  Maybe you could find it  in your heart somehow :P

Btw gang, I’m headed to the OC (Buena Park area) from Dec. 26 – Jan 3rd so if you see me out and about, come and say hi!! :D .

Alright guys, so winter has set in and it’s going to be increasingly difficult for all of us to trudge out into the cold to work out.  So I get the feeling that you may need some inspiration :) .  Whether it’s the thought of building a better bod for yourself, or finding someone hot to curl up with at the gym heheh.. whatever works for you! :P

Anyway, our first stud could give ya an idea of what might be waiting for you next Spring so you wouldn’t want to be all flabby and come face to face with him huh?  Better yet, how’s about spending the winter building up a healthy bod and body to match him?  hehehe…  that chest, those abs…  yum!

And you know what else happens in the Spring right?  All the hot shirtless boys in baseball caps come out for the beginning of baseball season!   Now, baseball’s not really huge here and the scoring system kinda confuses me, but it does tend to be one of the more athletic sports that promotes a healthy muscular bod… and hey, it must be pretty fun sliding into home base right under the catcher huh? Oh wait.. pitcher.. catcher.. hmmm :)

Now if something leaner is more what you’re shooting to achieve, how’s this guy’s bod?  A nice lean chest with a bit of muscle and a very lean six pack.  And all packed into a pair of tight jeans?  Yum… any guy who saw you at the club would be dying to get into your pants hehehe…

You know, I wonder what our next guy does to keep in shape… I mean, after all he looks like the type that likes to party hard, like as if he’d be the one standing next to the keg at the frat house hahah.  But with a bod lie that, he must take care of himself somehow right?  Just look at those abs… dang.  And I don’t know what it is, but I think a guy in cammie pants is just so hot :)

Well anyway guys, I hope that you don’t let the cold of winter slow you down from your overall health goals.  I know that most of us take a break during the winter months, but when you think about it.. why would you want to take all your hard work from the rest of the year and just waste it right?  There’s always a way to work out in the winter :)

Now if you’ll excuse me, it looks like my lover is ready for bed.. hehehe.  Find one like him to curl up with! (I wish)
